Harvest Festival time is here! Our lives depend upon seedtime and harvest. Seeds amaze me! They are tiny computers programmed with masses of complex information. When activated by water and warmth they have just enough energy to make a root and push it downwards. This soon draws up food that powers the molecular machinery for making shoots, leaves and flowers. Finally the seed clones itself and produces more seeds.
Leaves are ‘solar panels’ containing chlorophyll that converts water, carbon dioxide and the sun’s energy from 93,000,000 miles away, into carbohydrates and oxygen. The two essentials for life! Scripture truly says, “God formed the earth to be inhabited.” [Isaiah 45:18]
