Recently a BBC Horizon programme showed how scientists were predicting a dramatic rise in sea level through global warming during a future measured only in decades. Trafalgar Square was depicted with water swirling around Nelson’s Column. If this happens London’s Underground would be lost forever and vast areas would be polluted by sewerage. Multiply London by all the world’s cities situated near sea level and the prospect is terrifying.
Compare Horizon’s forecast with these words of Jesus that describe the world shortly before His second coming. “There will be distress of nations with perplexity the sea and waves roaring.” [Luke 21:25-27]
