PEACE HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM THE EARTH

The book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ unveils future events in symbolic language. The word apocalypse is translated revelation and means unveiling. This Greek word appeared in newspaper headlines at 9/11. In chapter 6 a thunderous voice introduces Four Horsemen but we can only examine 2. The rider of the first horse goes forth conquering and symbolically forecast that the world will always be torn by wars. The second rider is able to take peace from the earth. In the Greek his weapon is like a heavy sacrificial knife and represents the terrorist religiously delighting in brutal bloodshed. Today he has overtaken the first horse. No longer do armies confront each other. The enemy is hidden. As the King of Jordan recently said, “No-where on earth is now peaceful.” Peace has been taken from the earth exactly as foretold.
