THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, follows the exploits of four children in the amazing frozen world of Narnia which sadly had been cursed. It was because of this curse that Aslan the lion had to voluntarily lay down his life. The children cried as he made his way up to the stone table where he was cruelly treated before he died.

C.S. Lewis created Aslan as a picture of Jesus who willing laid down His life for us on the cross. After nearly 30 years at Magdalene College Oxford, Lewis turned from his atheism and knelt in prayer. Later he described his conversion in a book entitled, “Surprised by Joy!” The ice of Narnia had melted from his heart!
