At Christmas we celebrate Jesus leaving heaven and coming down to earth. On Good Friday we think of Him dying for our sins. On Easter Sunday we rejoice that He rose from the dead. Then on Ascension Day we remember Him returning to heaven and thus completing the cycle. But this is not the end of the story!
As the disciples watched Jesus ascend to heaven in a cloud, two angels said, “This same Jesus who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven.” [Acts 1:9-11] This apocalyptic event is also foretold in Revelation which says, “Behold, He is coming with clouds and every eye will see Him.” [Revelation 1:7] Do make sure you’re ready!
