The reverent and sincere use of an oath in a court of law is acceptable with God, but the 3rd Commandment says, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.” [Exodus 20:7]
Swearing is a degrading habit that sensible people should avoid like the plague because it pleases the devil! The phenomenon of swearing provides overwhelming evidence for the existence of God and the Devil! God is the Devil’s greatest enemy so the Devil loves to hear God’s holy name cheapened and dragged through the mire of filthy language, and flippantly used in empty conversation. Watch this space!
