A Chaplain offered a New Testament printed on thin paper to a man who said, “I’ll only use the pages to roll cigarettes!” The Chaplain replied, “I don’t mind if you do, so long as you promise to read each one first.” The man agreed and took the book.
Years later the man introduced himself to the Chaplain at a church service and told him what had happened. “I smoked my way through Matthew, Mark and Luke’s gospels reading each page, but when I got to John chapter 3 verse 16 God’s love broke my heart. I yielded my life to Christ and have never wanted to smoke since!”
