People talk about their ex-wife or their ex-husband, but no-one talks about an ex-child. I can never cease to be the child of my father; even if he dies, my name can still be put on his grave stone.
Many pray the prayer beginning Our Father even though they have not been adopted into the family of God. This adoption only takes place when a person turns from their sins to Christ and asks for forgiveness.
Jesus said to some religious people, “You are of your father the Devil and the desires of your father you want to do.” [John 8:44] But when you’ve been adopted into God’s family you always want to please your Heavenly Father, not Satan.
