A debt should burn a hole in our purse or pocket until we’ve paid it! The Bible says, “Owe no man anything except to love one another.” [Romans 13:8] Borrowing is not wrong but the book of Psalms says, “The wicked borrows and does not repay.” [Psalm 37:21] Those who behave like this are crooks.
The Apostle Paul was not ashamed to say, “I am a debtor!” [Romans 1:14] However, by this he meant that he owed it to everybody to tell them the gospel (good news) that Jesus came from heaven to earth to wipe out all their debt of sin and give them a clean sheet.
If you have repented and received Christ, you owe it to others to tell them the good news.
