Lydia’s name was as famous as M & S except that Lydia specialised in exclusive purple creations for high society 2000 years ago.
However, there was another side to Lydia, she worshipped God! This was unusual because most people worshipped many gods. One day Paul and three missionaries spoke to some women, including Lydia, who met for prayer by a riverside. As she heard about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God opened her heart and she surrendered to Christ. Joy flooded her soul. She got baptised in the river and opened her home to Paul and his friends. She herself had become, a new creation. [Acts 16:11-15 and 2 Corinthians 5:17]
