THE SECRET OF CONTENTMENT

We can spend our time longing for what we haven’t got or thanking God for what we have!  The first attitude brings continual discontentment; but the second attitude is ‘the gratitude attitude’, and this brings continual contentment.

The Apostle Paul, perhaps the greatest intellectual who has ever lived, wrote these words, “I have learned in whatever state I am in, to be content.  I know how to live in poverty and how to live in prosperity – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” [Philippians 4:11-13]

Paul was persecuted for proclaiming the good news about Jesus Christ, but he learned the secret of contentment because he never questioned the wisdom and the ways of God.
