Our greatest and most precious commodity is time. Although we don’t know how much we’ve got we often spend it carelessly. We waste it, kill it, lose it, forget it and pass it away even though we know we can never get it back again.
Time was created by God who inhabits a time free zone we call ‘Eternity’ so here’s a helpful prayer for daily use. “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” See Isaiah 57:15 and Psalm 90 verse 12. A wise person appreciates God’s gift of time and prays for guidance about how best to use it. Without God’s guidance we may go about doing good, but G-O-O-D minus G-O-D equals nothing!
