The word, automatic sounds modern but it springs from a word used by the ancient Greeks! Today, man is proud of his automatic devices yet none can compare to the human body in which millions of essential functions take place automatically thus giving us as much freedom of choice as possible.
Sadly, many abuse this freedom by selfish living that does not show the obedience due to a loving Creator. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “All we like sheep have gone astray … but the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” [Isaiah 53:6]
The Bible says, “Choose you this day whom you will serve.” [Joshua 24:15] By yielding to God’s will we will find forgiveness through Christ’s death and true freedom.
