The Hebrew word ‘Amen’ means ‘certainty’ and because it’s the last word in the Bible it confirms that the whole book is certainly true.
Over a century ago very clever but godless people prophesied that through science and technology, wars, disease and poverty would vanish! In contrast to this 2000 years ago the Bible prophesied that, “In the last days perilous times will come…” [see 2 Timothy 3:1-17] We can say Amen to this Bible prophecy because the world is certainly getting worse. If it was getting better then the Bible would be wrong!
At the end of Handel’s oratorio Messiah, the choir sing Jesus is King of Kings and then they sing Amen over 100 times. This confirms emphatically that He is King of Kings and shall reign for ever and ever. Amen!
