JESUS WILL RETURN AGAIN TO THIS EARTH

After creating the world in six days, “God saw everything that he had made … was very good.” [ Genesis 1:31 ].  Sadly it was not long before Adam and Eve disobeyed God and corrupted the world with sin.  This state of affairs grew worse and worse for centuries until, “the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually… so the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the earth.””  [ Genesis 6: 5-7 ].

The only good person God could find was Noah with a family of seven.  God told him that he would give the world only another 120 years and then would destroy it by a global flood.  Noah was given instructions about the size and shape of a boat, or ark, that he should make, with a door in the side through which the male and female of every kind of creature could pass, and then Noah’s family, before the Lord shut the door.

Many must have laughed at the very idea of such a big boat floating, but after Noah’s family had got on board God shut them in, and all the world outside was drowned.  It was over a year later before Noah’s family could step on dry land.

Thousands of years after the flood, Jesus was born in Bethlehem.  When he grew up, he made this remarkable prophecy about the signs that would precede his second coming.  He said, “For as in the days before the flood they were eating and drinking, … and did not know until the flood came … so also will my second coming be.”  [ Matthew 24:38-39 ].

The earth in the days of Noah was full of violence as it is today!  [ Genesis 6:13 ].  Don’t laugh the flood off as a myth.  Trust Christ as your Saviour now before God shuts the door!
