Ashbourne, a pleasant market town lying at the Southern end of the Peak District, is 6 miles away and is the gateway to Dovedale and Izaac Walton country.
Chatsworth House, one of England's Grandest Stately Homes, is a 20 minute drive away.
Alton Towers, Britain's most popular theme park, is within 25 miles of Hopton. Closer to hand for younger children is Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath.
Above Matlock, it is possible to walk to the Heights of Abraham or alternatively take the cable car ride (summer only) from Matlock Bath.
There are many varied places to eat out including Country Pubs and Restaurants. However many of our guests like to walk 500 yards down the lane to the local pub, The Miners Arms, which serves good value food and ale.
