Water of life found on Mars

"Water of life found on Mars!"   So read a newspaper headline.  But water is not life.  Although the simplest living cell is largely water it requires about 2000 highly organised chemical pathways in order to function.  By definition such complex systems must be the product of intelligence.

Space probes may discover water and chemicals like those found on earth, but if the Source of all the information displayed throughout the universe has not chosen to put life on the stars then this hi-tech earth that teams with life is unique.  This is strongly implied by Scripture using hundreds of words to describe the creation of the earth and then briefly saying, "He made the stars also." [ Genesis 1:16 ]

All the earth's eco systems shout to us that God made our earth to be inhabited. [ Isaiah 45:18 ]   And He made the stars so that we might enjoy the beauty of the night sky and navigate the globe by observing the distinctive star patterns.  Many birds also have these patterns written onto their genetic code which shows that God made the stars and the birds!

Some scientists trust the laws of nature without realising that these, like the Bible, lead us to a non-material source of information.  It was in fact their obedience to God's laws that landed the probes on Mars at exactly the times they predicted!  Sadly their refusal to believe in a Creator has led to the pathetic hope that extraterrestrial beings could save the human race, hence the popularity of science fiction.

Happily we rely not on science fiction but upon solid fact.  The Creator has visited Earth to be our Saviour.  He has died for our sins, conquered the grave and opened the door to Paradise .  He now offers us the water of eternal life which will satisfy our inner thirst for the meaning of life. [ John 4:14 ]
