True love for Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's week! In the 19th century Professor Henry Drummond wrote a best selling book about LOVE entitled, "The Greatest Thing in the World". It was based on the Bible's superb description of love. [ 1 Corinthians 13 ].

LOVE is patient and kind. Here's love in action!

LOVE does not envy - It is not jealous of those who are more gifted.

LOVE is humble - After doing something beautiful it says nothing about it.

LOVE is courteous - It is always polite and sympathetic.

LOVE is unselfish - "Seekest thou great great things for thyself? Seek them not." [ Jeremiah 45:5 ]. - Unselfish love makes people, not things, great!

LOVE is never bad tempered - Bad temper has been called "The vice of the virtuous." One flash of temper indicates a lack of patience, kindness and unselfishness.

LOVE thinks no evil - It always puts the best construction on the actions of others.

But where is the source of true love? The clue is found in three words, "God is love." [ 1 John 4:8 ]. This is seen in the beauty of the earth and the bountiful supply of food for our bodies. But most of all we see His loving concern for souls when He allowed His only Son to be lifted up on a cross to die for our sins. Jesus foretold His death by crucifixion when He said, "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me." [ John 12:32 ]

For nearly 2000 years, millions have believed in God's text message "I LUV U!" and have been drawn to Christ by the attractive, magnetic pull of His love. Look up to Christ today for pardon. Walk in His magnetic field and your heart will be filled with true love!
