Readers will know that before Christmas I presented conclusive evidence to show that the Bethlehem baby was indeed God coming to this earth in the person of Jesus Christ. (Log on to www.thoughtfortheweek.co.uk). This was the first coming of Christ and many at that time who knew the Scripture forecasts were eagerly awaiting His coming.

During His first coming Jesus often spoke about His second coming to this earth and in view of the 300 forecasts of this first visit coming true we can be certain that He will come again.

Jesus made it plain that when He came the first time He did not come as Judge but as Saviour. But when He returns the second time He will not come as Saviour but as Judge! [ John 12:47 ] This coming will not be limited to Israel but will be a spectacular global event like lightning flashing from the east to the west! [ Matthew 24:27 ] For those who love Christ and are looking forward to His coming, the following words of Scripture often read at funeral services will come true. “We shall not all sleep (die) but we shall all be changed – in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” [ 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 ]. This fact has been making Christian eyes twinkle for 2000 years!

It was the alarming prospect of the second coming of Christ and the day of judgement that woke me up! I knew I was just doing my own thing and that Jesus who died for me meant nothing to me. With the help of Christian colleagues in the RAF nearly 60 years ago, I turned from my sins to Christ and have enjoyed His pardon and peace ever since.
