The Da Vinci Code theory produced by Dan Brown is basically nonsense! He talks about facts but then makes 69 factual errors! He then combines these dodgy facts with fiction to make a seductive mix designed to undermine the genuine belief of millions that the Lord Jesus Christ was indeed God walking on the earth as the only perfect human being who has ever lived.

The most controversial part of Brown’s blockbuster book is the suggestion that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and that they had a child. Writing about AD60 the Apostle Paul said, “Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?” [ 1 Corinthians 9:5 ] If Jesus had been married undoubtedly Paul would have included Him in this list? A second point to consider is that when Jesus was dying on the cross He made provision for His mother so that St. John took her to his own home. Surely if He had a wife He would have also made provision for her but there is no mention of this. [ John 19:26,27 ]

There are many excellent writers of historical fiction who take great care to accurately blend truth with fiction. Sadly Dan Brown distorts past reality and manipulates historical facts to make his novel more exciting. It’s significant that books and films about Jesus, whether good or evil, attract greater interest than productions about any other historical character. This confirms the unique greatness of Christ whom millions know as the one who conquered death and now lives in their hearts.

Only the Bible gives us a supremely reliable history of Jesus because it’s based on thousands more ancient manuscripts than any other book. It’s no secret that the Bible code has got millions right through to God!
