WALKING WITH GOD THROUGH 2008

“You’ll never walk alone” through the New Year if you walk with God.  The Bible tells us that if we walk with God we walk in the light. [ 1 John 1:7], [ Ephesians 5:2 ] & [ Colossians 4:5 ].  But if we walk alone we walk in the dark and stumble because we don’t know where we’re going [ John 11:10 ].  We all have to face trouble in our lives but if we are not walking with God every trouble will be double trouble because we’re not talking to God in prayer and asking Him to guide us.

We are told that Noah walked with God even when the world was very wicked, which means that there is no reason at all why we cannot walk with God so long as we follow His instructions in the Bible and pray for His help [ Genesis 6:9 ].

It’s no accident that the moon by its four phases that are repeated 13 times annually gives us 52 weeks in a year. It is also appropriate that we have 26 bones in each foot.  We can use this as a reminder that God intends us to walk with Him through 52 weeks of every year.  We should also take special note of the fact that God, not man, invented the seven-day week.  In order to help us to receive strength to walk with Himself, God gave us a very kind command to keep one day in seven as a special holy day.  Because He is our Creator He knew that this would be beneficial for our health and happiness.

It’s sad that Britain has secularised Sunday and is therefore reaping a hideous harvest of violence, broken homes and stress-related illnesses.  If we resolved to refresh our souls in God’s presence every day we would have less stress and more peace of heart and mind as we walk with God through 2008.
