THE BIG BANG

The late Sir Bernard Lovell, one time Astronomer Royal, said, “If the universe began with a big bang there must have been a plan at the bang!”

The truth is that everyone on this planet, including scientists, knows that an uncontrolled explosion produces chaos!  Instead we find that the universe displays a wonderful uniformity from the stars to the intelligence of every living thing: from the honey bee to the human being.

The Bible, the oldest book in the world, begins, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” [ Genesis 1:1 ]  In 1968 the scientists on Apollo 8 were not ashamed to read these words and many more from the book of Genesis as they circled the moon.  In 700BC the Bible spoke about the, “High and lofty One who inhabits eternity.”  [ Isaiah 57:15 ]  Even in those days they recognised the true God and creator of the universe inhabited a timeless zone and was not therefore restricted by the time He had created.  This means He could have created the universe in 6 days, or 6 minutes, or in no time at all!

Those who talk about millions of years for the creation of the world are apparently unaware of the greatness and timelessness of God.  Their theories about millions of years cannot therefore be founded upon accurate scientific observations but only upon doubtful unscientific assumptions.

The timelessness of God can be scientifically tested by examining the ancient prophetic parchments that are with us today.  These prophets could only have made their many accurate prophecies because they were inspired by God who alone could overcome time and forecast future events.  A classic example of this was when the prophet Micah in about 400BC forecast that a child born in Bethlehem would be the eternal God. (Jesus!)
