Recently a BBC Horizon programme featured climate change and showed how scientists are predicting a dramatic rise in sea level through global warming during a brief future measured only in decades! To illustrate this, one picture showed Trafalgar Square with flood water swirling around Nelson’s Column. If this happened, most of the London Underground Railway would be lost forever. All shops and businesses with basements would suffer enormous losses and vast areas would be polluted by sewerage and sea water. Already serious doubts are being expressed about building more houses in South East England where flood plains are likely to increase. Multiply London by all the world’s major cities situated on rivers near to sea level, and the prospect is terrifying!

As my readers will know, I have often shown how predictions about the first coming of Christ, some going back thousands of years came true. Therefore the following forecasts made by Christ 2000 years ago about His second coming will also come true. Compare Horizon’s predictions with the following words of Jesus. “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring, men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” [ Luke 21:25-27 ]

Apparently there have not yet been signs in the sun, moon and stars but these will come exactly like the special star that appeared at His first coming. The expression, “the powers of heaven” could be translated, “the powers of the skies.” Powerful forces of nature have been shaken by ruthless deforestation, not to mention pollution, especially by 10,000 aircraft polluting the skies globally every second.
