GOD IS NOT DEAD

Britain is a nation of believers – according to the Sun newspaper!

The tabloid carried out one of its biggest ever surveys of readers this Spring, and it’s Belief and Moral’s survey revealed that 70% of the public believe in God. The Nationwide pole of adults showed that:

62% believe children should be raised to believe in God.
44% pray once a week or more.
91% believe stealing to be the biggest sin.
71% believe in the afterlife.

Award winning journalist Brian Appleyard, the report’s author said, “For years atheists have been telling us that religious belief is withering away. They said we’d given up praying. For a long time we thought they were right, but the Sun’s survey changes all that. It shows that regular church attendance is not the only measure of religious belief. God is not dead. He’s alive and living in Britain.”

The Christian faith will never wither away from Britain or the world because Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” [ Matthew 16:18 ] And everything He says comes true! Without doubt Britain has been at its best when churches and chapels have been full. Recent figures reveal that in the 1930’s people were generally happier and more contented than today. Sunday was a quiet family day and divorce was virtually unknown. Children were warned about the dangers of alcohol and given a good moral foundation by the Bible teaching in Sunday Schools. These cost the nation nothing but saved the tax payer millions! Benjamin Disraeli said, “The religious observance of Sunday is the cheap defence of a nation.”

Sadly increasingly atheistic governments have destroyed the Christian Sunday and now we are reaping what we sow, a terrible harvest of broken homes, binge drinking, drug addiction and violence. [ Galatians 6:7 ]
