HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS

Centuries before Jesus came to earth, it was foretold that He would be born in Bethlehem and that He would be Wonderful, meaning in the Hebrew extraordinary! [Isaiah 9:6] It was wonderful how He came from the womb of the Virgin Mary but even more wonderful was how He entered the womb! This was a biological miracle confirmed by Dr. Luke [ Luke 1:26-38 ]

The life of Jesus was wonderful. The Encyclopaedia Britannica carries a 30,000 word entry under His name! Thousands of hospitals, universities and schools have been founded through His teaching. He never wrote a book, painted a picture, wrote poetry or composed music yet more books, pictures, poetry and music have focused upon Him than anybody else. Jesus, the humble carpenter from Nazareth said that the words of His gospel must be preached to all nations before He returns to earth. [ Mark 13:10 ] Today through literature, radio, TV, etc., His words encircle the globe exactly as He said they would!

The death of Jesus was wonderful, because His primary purpose in coming down to earth from heaven at Christmas was to die! He knew that it could only be through His sacrifice that God’s justice could be satisfied and sinful people forgiven. He now offers forgiveness and a home in heaven as the greatest Christmas present to all who repent and receive Him as their Saviour.

Finally, we have His wonderful resurrection and Second Coming. Lord Lyndhurst, one of the greatest minds in British legal history once said, “I know pretty well what evidence is, and I tell you, such evidence as that for the resurrection has never been broken down yet.” Jesus was seen by hundreds after His resurrection before He returned to heaven but we mustn’t forget that just as He came the first time as foretold so He will certainly return the second time.
