TWO DEMONS FROM HELL

Lawrence Edgar has kindly allowed me to abbreviate his story about two demons from hell.

“I want to warn you about two friends I met when aged 14. Their names are Beer and Vodka. I met Beer first when playing darts or pool or going to a dance. One day another friend named Vodka introduced himself to me. He was a small guy but much stronger than Beer and could deliver a good punch. Soon Vodka began to control my life. I didn’t notice this at first but soon I was meeting with Beer and Vodka every night of the week at pubs and clubs where they were a popular couple at every table!

“At the age of 15 I met Jean who was to become my wife. Soon we had four lovely children. I had a good job and a beautiful wife but unfortunately I brought Beer and Vodka home to live with us. They caused many a row between Jean and myself and I would storm out of the house in a rage. Jean was always faithful but Beer and Vodka gave me split lips, black eyes, cuts and bruises. I lost a fortune trying to live with these two demons. They stole my self-respect, my sanity, my jobs, my friends and my driving licence twice.

“At 43 Beer and Vodka put me into a hospital alcohol unit. I had an enlarged liver and other damaged organs and I didn’t have long to live. But it was in hospital I met a true friend. His name is Jesus Christ and He never leaves me or Jean. He never does me any harm and He has restored all the things the two demons had stolen, even my health.
